We had a first today as the Norko family. Finn experienced his first real haircut at a salon.
Style Divita is this super cool little hair salon located in Kill Devil Hills, NC. The girls there are awesome and have now done Ava’s, mine and Finn’s hair. If my husband had any hair he’d go there too (LOVE you’re super handsome bald head hubs!)
We were at a turning point with Finn and his hair. It was so long it was down past the middle of his back, it’s a daily occurrence for Mommy to have to brush out food, knots, paint and stickers (and this is after it’s pulled back in a pony tail.) He’s constantly being mistaken for a little girl (not that this bother’s me, I just laugh it off and think to myself “if you spent 1 minute with him you’d know he is NOT a girl.) Last week at Wal-Mart I even got “oh, looks like you’re trying for that boy this time” from a stranger, while Finn was dangling from one leg and Ava was pushing the race car, I mean cart. I really love his hair long but at some point a cut HAD to come. I’ve been avoiding it for months now knowing that when we did turn to the scissors we would lose any curl this hair has and that gorgeous ombre blonde he’s been rocking since last summer but with a new baby coming into the home in about 8ish weeks we did what we had to do.
It’s an understatement to say Finn didn’t want his hair cut. I don’t know if he was vibeing off me or what but he cried almost the whole time and we even had to put my husband in the chair with a cape to hold him. You would have thought the stylist was trying to amputate Finn’s leg with her scissors, he was a bit dramatic. I don’t know where he get’s that from. At one given point there was fruit snacks, 3 lollypops (that he stuffed into his pocket) a toy police car, daddy, the iPad playing Micky Mouse, and big sister holding him just to try and stop the tears. I actually missed the before picture (although I have many of those) because he was so upset I felt bad grabbing my camera and ignoring the fact that Finn was “sad.”
Here’s Finn’s hair BEFORE:

A big thanks to Jessie at Style Divita for putting up with us this morning. She was amazing and did a great job with Finn, she was also the master mind behind Ava’s rad pink and purple dip from a few months back! Tammie did my hair on Saturday (which I LOVE) I’ll insert the instagram pic below! If you need a little something added to your locks go see any of those girls, they will hook you up!!!

and here it is, our experience with Finn and scissors…

and after! He’s still looking super handsome![]()
