As much as Asia & I tried to make our schedules work for a snow shoot it just didn’t work. Everyone knows how crazy the Outer Banks weather can be and this winter has really helped contribute to the winter blues. I’ve been itching, I mean ITCHING to go out and work but 30mph winds and 30 degrees make it hard on everyone. I’m glad Asia & William didn’t wait any longer to get their maternity session going because with or without snow this session turned out beautiful. Take that Outer Banks winter!

Hannah, Phil and I caught a beautiful day in January and decided to have a fun little session at the Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo, NC. Even in the middle of the winter there was so much to photograph there, I love the chance to change it up from the beach. Hannah & Phil couldn’t be any happier to meet baby Mira and I’m excited to see them become new parents!

It’s cold on the Outer Banks right now. As I was sewing in my little nook today with a heater at my feet I decided to throw some fun Valentine mini sessions this Sunday at the studio! This will be held at my studio in Nags Head and I’ll have a simple white backdrop. You can funk this up or keep it simple. I’ll have a pink chair & a few other things or you can stay away from the valentine theme completely and just keep it simple. Theres not a TON of room so these are best for a parent & child, 1-3 kids (taking turns & a group shot), a couple or even if you need a new fun headshot! Shoot me an email and reserve your spot! I can’t wait! XOXO

Genevieve & Chad are very good friends of mine, shooting weddings as their associate photographer for Genevieve Stewart Photography, going on 4 years now. This is the couples second beautiful baby girl. You can check out images from Beyahs birth HERE.

Now with this being baby #2, Lowry was not going to wait for anyone. Not me, not her midwife. I’m just glad Gen made it to Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City!  I arrived about 10 min after mom & dad at 4:13AM, Lowry was born at 4:01. Totally bummed that I didn’t get those photos of the first breath but stoked for Gen on having a super fast birth. I was still able to get some of those first moments that we all take for granted on camera. Meet Lowry Farrow.

Can you imagine how hard it is to hold these little teeny tiny babies at about 1 week old and then give them back!! As my youngest is approaching 2 years old I find myself just staring at every newborn client I’ve had recently. Theres nothing more perfectly created then a human life and to be fortunate enough to curl them and hold them for my career is one of the biggest blessings I can think of. Thank you to EVERY single client I’ve had this year, you guys keep me running.

Meet Lily.

Another December baby except this time a little boy! I’ve followed Wyatt’s parents throughout their pregnancy and had an amazing time at their maternity session in Manns Harbor, NC at the site of their future family home. Mom & Dad brought some of their favorite things including a vintage fish basket, dads decoy & Remington gun crate & some special knit hats to go with grandpas football, go MHS!

I was so very excited to have a little snuggle session with little miss Lila this past weekend. Her mom is a fellow photographer here on the Outer Banks and when she asked me to photograph her new little sweet pea I jumped all over the opportunity. I have a studio stocked full of props, wraps, headbands and hats so we had lot’s of my stuff to work with and Kati also brought some of her own things, a little tiny Santa hat that fit PERFECTLY, headbands made at Lila’s baby shower by her friends and family & at the very end Kati whipped out a mermaid tail that we totally forgot about so we stuck her in that tail and grabbed a shot before her session came to an end.

Here’s just a few of my favorites.

Side note: the bracelet was her mom’s as a newborn! Swoon.

Hampton has two big sister that think he is the best thing since cartoon. It was so sweet to see them love on their little brother at my studio. I’ve been photographing this amazing family since the very beginning of my career and I love to see how they’ve grown into this amazingly kind, beautiful family of 5. Please check out Earl Grey Designs (featured below) for some amazing fall/winter bonnets for your mini!HT-2-2HT-33HT-56HT-49HT-65HT-77
